Heximus is a simple integrated development enviroment for Android
allowing you to prototype, develop and deploy Android
applications using only your cell phone, tablet or chromebook. No
internet,no PC,no cloud, or SIM card is required. Now just about
anybody can develop applications rapidly without an extreme learning curve or
high cost of suitable hardware to do so. The intent here is bring the
wizardry of computer programming down to the masses and also provide a learning
platform springboard where users can learn the basics, and then just maybe
pursue a career in computer science.
In the design
of Heximus, simplicity and reusability were the main concerns. All
functions and methods in Heximus try to mimic previous existing standards so
knowledge gained is not knowledge lost when going to another platform.
You may find
you can recycle your old android cell phone or tablet
and put it back to work if
it is at least version 23, Marshmallow circa October 2015. It really is a
vintage supercomputer. Your old cell phone(s) are probably gathering dust
in a desk drawer and have more processing power than IBM's DEEP BLUE that beat
grand chess master Garry Kasparov. May as well use that old phone for some
applications that may help you. Since Heximus does not require a SIM card
or Internet connection, any Android device version 23 and up will work.
Heximus does
use the Internet but only to communicate with your google drive which is why API
23 and up is required. Otherwise, it would be difficult to transfer files
between Heximus and the outside world. A future version of Heximus will
supports sockets for TCP/IP communication but not in this initial release.
